Four Republicans are competing in their primary to be on the November nominee, where there will also be an Independent Party candidate. The Democratic nominee — whoever it is — will have an enormous advantage in this blue district. We consider Brent Andersen best prepared to fight for his party, and we recommend him for the Republican nomination…
…We found him to be more realistic than most Republican candidates about the looming fiscal cliff for Social Security and Medicare Part A, which are forecast to exhaust their trust funds by 2033 and 2034.
Without action by Congress, old age and survivor benefits will have to be reduced by 22% and hospital benefits by 11%.
Andersen conceded, albeit reluctantly, that it might be necessary to increase the ceiling on income subject to Social Security withholding.
Lateresa “LA” Jones of Hollywood, founder of an organization called Grandmas for the Generations, campaigned for the Violence Against Women Act in 1994. She holds a real estate license and has served in Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Faith and Community Initiative.
She and Andersen both oppose sending Haitians back to their gang-ruled country at present.
Neither of the other Republicans is a credible candidate. Carla Spalding, who did not return our questionnaire or participate in our interview, runs perennially on Trump’s coattails.
